In addition to providing a grat operating and maintenance convenience, Swing Lines offer an additional margin of tank safety. They provide an effective means of preventing costly product loss through damaged or accidently opened valves. In the event of fire, Swing Lines prevent the uncontrolled and dangerous release of tank contents.
Swing pipes used in storage tanks designed as feeding stills prevent the introduction of tank water into the still which could result in a serious chemical reaction or contamination.
When elevated, the swing pipes permits packing, servicing or replacement of gate or global valves and changes in pipes, without the expense and inconvience of emptying the tank.
For applications where products tend to stratify, Swing Lines permit withdrawl from any level from top to bottom. With aviation jet fuel, clean product may be drawn from the upper level, thus avoiding tank contaminents that have settled to the tank bottom.
