Fusible link fire safety valves are designed for use on all above ground storage tanks holding flammable liquids. Many states have enacted legislation to require this type of valve, as part of their flammable liquids code, and to provide a standard of safety for the facility and its personnel in the event of a fire.
The standard OCECO V-114 has a carbon steel body, 150 lb. ANSI raised face flanges and either bronze or stainless steel trim. Special materials of construction and oversize flanges are available on request
The valve is held open by a fusible link assembly, which is listed by U.L..
and designed to release at a specific temperature.
In the event of a fire, the fuse link will melt* and allow the spring loaded valve, to seat, consequently preventing any flow from the tank.
All V-114s have metal to metal seating and are hand lapped to insure minimal leakage under fire conditions.
These units contain no Teflon, plastic, rubber or other materials susceptible to exposure fire and are individually tested prior to shipment.
These units are designed to stop the outflow of product. Please consult OCECO engineering for inlet applications.
